Title: Xenial update to 4.4.78 stable release broke Address Sanitizer Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in linux source package in Xenial: Fix Released Bug description: From "Xenial update to 4.4.78 stable release", comment #3 made by @justinkl (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1705707/comments/3): " Hi all, The binfmt_elf change in https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/eab09532d40090698b05a07c1c87f39fdbc5fab5 broke Address Sanitizer. It was included in the Xenial (and Trusty- LTS-Xenial) kernel in this change. This broke us. https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/c715b72c1ba406f133217b509044c38d8e714a37 reverts this change in order to unbreak Address Sanitizer. Any chance it can land soon? (Is there already a bug for this?)
