Public bug reported: SRU Justification
Impact: The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or a minimally backported form of that patch. The following upstream stable patches should be included in the Ubuntu kernel: upstream stable patchset 2019-08-02 Ported from the following upstream stable releases: v4.14.126, v4.19.51, v4.14.127*, v4.19.52*, v4.14.128, v4.19.53, v4.14.129, v4.19.54, v4.19.55*, v4.14.130, v4.19.56, v4.14.131*, v4.14.132, v4.19.57, v4.14.133, v4.19.58, *Note: Bionic already carried all patches from this set from git://git.kernel.org/ ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Kamal Mostafa (kamalmostafa) Status: In Progress ** Tags: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Tags added: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: + SRU Justification - SRU Justification + Impact: + The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar + in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to + demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream + by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or + a minimally backported form of that patch.
