After the update to said linux firmware version I had issues in connecting to the WPA enterprise wifi networks EDUROAM and ALMAWIFI. EDUROAM is the European universities Wi-Fi network. Ability to connect to non enterprise network is unaffected. Downgrading to 1.178 seems to restore proper functionality. In the next days I'll try further checks to see if the firmware is really the sole trigger for the issue. In the meantime, I am tentatively opening the bug in case others have my same issue.
