Wow, I completely forgot about this bug report. As I found out in the meantime, this problem only occurs if you use both Windows and Linux. On Windows, whenever the switch button is pressed, a popup appears which prompts you to select the devices you want to turn on/off. When you do, the driver seems to do something linux doesn't understand, as whenever you actually switch one of the devices on or off on Windows, you lose the ability to use the switch on Linux until you reset the BIOS settings.
Since I'm not using Windows anymore on that particular laptop, I cannot check whether the problem still exists. I suspect it does. However, since I'm not affected anymore, feel free to close this bug due to a lack of interest, if you want. ;-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/515090 Title: Amilo Xi 3650: WLAN/BT hotkey doesn't work Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Since I bought an AMILO Xi 3650 laptop some months ago, I always had to boot Vista to be able to turn WLAN and Bluetooth on and off via Fn+F1 (there's only one key for both, on Windows a window appears asking me which of them I want to be enabled). In December I upgraded to lucid and at the beginning of January I suddenly noticed that the hotkey was working, turning both WLAN and BT on and off whenever I pressed it. Today I had to find out that it doesn't work anymore again (since I don't need BT most of the time, it could've already been broken for some days).
