Given that: 1) The config file : /etc/default/tmpfs is no longer installed and therefore doesn't contain a comment that says "Adjust the default size of /dev/shm by uncommenting the line below" (or whatever it said exactly)
2) /dev/shm is now mounted as /run/shm who's size is controlled by some other form of black magic 3) The reason I needed the size change was to tweak the now obsolete vmware server 2.x I'd say this issue can be folded, spindled, and mutilated. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/604630 Title: boot sequence no longer honors SHM_SIZE set in /etc/defaults/tmpfs Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Under 9.04 and before, initial size of /dev/shm could be modified as documented in /etc/default/tmpfs For 9.10 and 10.04 however this setting has no effect.
