Even setting to output boot messages to a serial console no messages appear as if it never tried to boot at all. What makes this strange is that the live media works correctly using -device virtio-vga,virgl=true, but then, on reboot, the installed system fails to boot. To make the guest work it's required to remove the option ,virgl=true from the command line.
