Public bug reported:

Hello
Can you confirm or deny what I suspect?
This is a standard installation of ubuntu 18.04 on a 2 TB disk.
So there is an EFI partition of 0.5 GB and an ext4 partition containing ubuntu
whose size is 1.95 TB
GUID Partition Table detected.
Partition Attrs Start Sector End Sector # of Sectors System
/dev/sdb1                 2,048     1,050,623     1,048,576 EFI System partition
/dev/sdb2             1,050,624 3,238,990,806 3,237,940,183 Data partition
(Linux)

boot-info shows that there is a kernel installed
(boot/initrd.img-4.15.0-29-generic)

=================== sdb2: Location of files loaded by Grub: ====================
           GiB - GB             File                                 Fragment(s)

 880.641826630 = 945.581961216  vmlinuz                                        1
1300.838737488 = 1396.764958720 boot/initrd.img-4.15.0-29-generic              3
1300.838737488 = 1396.764958720 initrd.img                                     3
1300.838737488 = 1396.764958720 initrd.img.old                                 3

refind shows an icon for the grub of partition 1 but does not offer
anything for partition 2.

I feel that refind forget to look in the partition 2 if there is directory /boot
Probably because of its unusual size.
What's your opinion?

thank you for your reply
