Gabriel, indeed the "PrepareForSleep false" signal is still missing. I now have run out of ideas why that would be, as the communication between shim and logind seems fine. Also, I cannot reproduce this at all with adding sleeps to places. This needs to be studied in more detail to get more ideas where to continue with debugging.
Pablo, reboot shouldn't make a difference, but hibernation does. We disable hibernate by default in Ubuntu, and the mechanics of that are quite a bit different. Can you please file a separate bug about that? Let's keep this bug focused on resuming from suspend, it's hard/complex enough as it is :-( Thanks! Does anyone else have more luck with the current PPA version? ** Summary changed: - missing resume signal because D-BUS connection goes away + missing PrepareForSleep signal after resuming, causing networking to stay disabled ** Changed in: systemd-shim (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Incomplete ** Changed in: systemd-shim (Ubuntu) Assignee: Martin Pitt (pitti) => (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1252121 Title: missing PrepareForSleep signal after resuming, causing networking to stay disabled Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in “systemd-shim” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: As per request from bug #1184262, this is a new report, along with dbus (to be attached) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: systemd-services 204-0ubuntu19 Uname: Linux 3.12.0-custom x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.12.5-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Nov 17 20:24:41 2013 MarkForUpload: True SourcePackage: systemd UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to saucy on 2013-10-17 (31 days ago) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1252121/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
