It has already been applied to Bionic. It is being requested in Artful, so it makes it's way into linux-azure through the re-base process. This fix is required if a large number of records are injected into a pool, which can cause the kvp daemon to crash. This commit has been cc'd to upstream stable. However, it has not yet been applied to Artful, since upstream 4.13 is EOL. == Fix == 297d6b6e56c2 ("hv: kvp: Avoid reading past allocated blocks from KVP file") == Regression Potential == Low. This patch has also been sent to upstream stable, so it has had additional upstream review. == Test Case == A test kernel was built with this patch and tested by the original bug reporter. The bug reporter states the test kernel resolved the bug.
