Using actual 4.15.0-33.36 amd64 instead, rtl8723be doesn't find any wifi networks and thus there is no connection. Changing the antenna setup in /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723be_options.conf doesn't help either; as a workaround an external wifi device (Gigaset USB Adapter 108) works. The expectation is that wifi through rtl8723be will still work under 4.15.0-33.36 as it did previously.
