asgard2, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number> Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.12 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1041215 Title: no writing on ntfs kernel 3.6.0-030600rc2 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream' Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Hi, I installed the new kernel image for testing on Ubuntu 12.04. System: DELL XPS 15 L502x notebook linux-image-3.6.0-030600rc2-generic_3.6.0-030600rc2.201208161835_amd64.deb linux-image-extra-3.6.0-030600rc2-generic_3.6.0-030600rc2.201208161835_amd64.deb Linux version 3.6.0-030600rc2-generic (apw@gomeisa) (gcc version 4.6.3 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5) ) #201208161835 SMP Thu Aug 16 22:36:32 UTC 2012 Links are working but in Firefox are not recognized anymore. They are not marked as blue and there is no "mouse-hand-logo" when go over a link with the mouse. some Screenshots: http://www.xup.in/dl,20610185/Bildschirmfoto_vom_2012-08-24_16:03:32.png/ http://www.xup.in/dl,18383046/Bildschirmfoto_vom_2012-08-24_16:05:34.png/ If I use the old kernel 3.2.0-29-generic the problem is gone. All bookmarks are also gone, no entries under the adress bar and the bookmark library is empthy. Thunderbird Profile is also not working correkt anymore... I got a message like this: could not access data file I played with my virtual box to find the reason. My profiles are saved on a ntfs partition. If I use my ubuntu vm with the new kernel and the ff profile is on a linux partition. Everything is fine, but if I create an ntfs partition and use the profile from this partition, the bookmark panel is also not working. But the bookmark library is working. It looks like a ntfs problem. Maybe this information helps to fix the bug. http://www.xup.in/dl,14209075/80902paste.txt/ http://www.xup.in/dl,78239514/67114paste.txt/ --- ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu12 Architecture: amd64 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120425) Package: linux (not installed) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash Tags: precise running-unity Uname: Linux 3.6.0-030600rc2-generic x86_64 UnreportableReason: The running kernel is not an Ubuntu kernel UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom davfs2 dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1041215/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
