After a quick test i see the problems remain (did like 10 boots). By the way when half of the screen has rendering problems it looks like this https://imgur.com/a/n7SAa2i i had to make a picture with my smartphone because the screenshot looks normal. (the icon top left changed because i plugged in my smartphone).
But like mentioned before .. this is just one of the various states that can occur when trying to boot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1787489 Title: Vega graphics (2400g) in 4.15 kernel Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: There is a problem with vega graphics in the 4.15 kernel used with ubuntu 18.04 On my system sometimes the graphics work without problems. Other times i get textual information from booting. Or i get a black screen. Or the booting progress dots just keep on going. Or i boot to the desktop and half of the screen has an area that is not rendered correctly. I tried the mainline kernel of 4.16 4.17 and 4.18 and these kernels don't have this bug. (However they give problems with my wifi). Can the fixes in the newer kernels be backported to ubuntu 18.04 ?
