Carlos Moffat, as per http://download.lenovo.com/express/ddfm.html an update is available for your BIOS (1.38). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything?
If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Thank you for your understanding. ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 991040 COMRESET failed (errno=-16) on Intel SSD ** Tags added: bios-outdated-1.38 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1056472 Title: Slow Resume with Crucial M4 SSD Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Hi, I have a Crucial M4 512 GB SSD installed on my Thinkpad X220 (Ubuntu Precise). Overall this runs very nicely, but it takes 10+ seconds to resume from suspend, apparently because some issue with the hardrive. The only message I see while resuming is "COMRESET failed (errno=-16)". I tried that, but the laptop wouldn't suspend. I have been running recent mainline kernels, up to and including the 3.6-rc7 and the problem persists. Peter Petrakis suggested I test how long it takes to resume in Windows 7. It takes 3-5 seconds there, versus 12-14 in Ubuntu. The SSD has up to date Firmware (010G) and the thinkpad is running the latest Bios.
