I can login in console, but, other than occassional windows with apport trash, I see nothing except a mouse pointer. It happens with ubuntu, gnome (all variants), cinnamon and openbox sessions. Only lxde (which a very expert friend suggested I tested) works. The bug was further complicated by the fact that network-manager is unusable without X, the laptop does not have ethernet and I have only wifi here :(. I had to use usb tethering with my phone to install lxde and suffered a 36hours blackout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1251997/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
