I've been having this problem with my AR9462 wifi chip for several months. It randomly disconnects, with the uptime varying between a minute and 10 minutes. The speed often drops to 1Mb/s and remains there, rendering the connection worthless. I've tried a variety of kernels from 3.2 to 3.8. I've tried various combinations of the ath9k params, but no combination seems to help the 0168C, 0034 device. Dmesg merely reports: [94720.719145] wlan0: authenticate with 20:aa:4b:3a:85:e3 (try 1) [94720.721300] wlan0: authenticated [94720.733950] wlan0: associate with 20:aa:4b:3a:85:e3 (try 1) [94720.736683] wlan0: RX ReassocResp from 20:aa:4b:3a:85:e3 (capab=0x411 status=0 aid=1) [94720.736696] wlan0: associated [94726.045203] cfg80211: Calling CRDA to update world regulatory domain [94726.051433] cfg80211: World regulatory domain updated: [94726.051438] cfg80211: (start_freq - end_freq @ bandwidth), (max_antenna_gain, max_eirp) ...... and then it stops. I have no idea what "reason=3" means, since it isn't disconnecting by my choice. There are no "errors" or "failures" for this driver listed in the system logs. I had been running Kubuntu 12.04.3 since it was beta and to avoid the problem I began using a cat5 connection to my modem because my wireless connection is worthless. Last week I switched to KWheezy 1.3 to bypass the Ubuntu repositories and connect directly with Debian's. The problem persists. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947697 Title: Atheros AR9285 Wireless on Ubuntu 12.04 is slow, unstable and has a weak signal. Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: In Windows 7 the signal is excellent, stable and strong. I use the netbook for every home, but in Ubuntu you can only connect a few meters away. In my university can not connect because the signal is too weak. In Windows 7 is okay. Everyone in my building at the university can connect very well with Windows. Who uses computer ath9k driver, no.
