The point of this bug report is that the fix to LP#1672464 removed a
binary package name from xenial - this is like changing an API contract.
But xenial has long since shipped with this breakage, so this report can
be ignored.

Title:
  linux-aws does not provide linux-image-extra-$(uname -r)

Status in linux-aws package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I have a large number of image builds based on xenial that
automatically install linux-image-extra-$(uname -r) to ensure aufs is
  available.

  The recent fix to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-
aws/+bug/1672464 ensures aufs is available, but it breaks a lot of
  automation.

Is it possible for linux-aws to Provide linux-image-extra-$(uname -r)
  to prevent breaking existing automation?

  Ross
