A shutdown or reboot works perfect, but when I boot after shutting down Ubuntu the PC sometimes hangs in the BIOS. Sometimes I get the message "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key", but it also happens that I don't even see a message and the system just hangs before loading GRUB 2. This didn't happen when I used Ubuntu 9.04 or when I boot after using XP. I added the option acpi=off to the kernel and that seems to solve the problem, but I would really like to use Ubuntu in a normal way and with ACPI enabled. I tested the HDD and memory and there were no problems whatsoever. Could someone please help me out with this problem? I attached all information that was asked, if I need to provide some more information, please ask. --- AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.21.
