Is this the reason for the extremely long boot time observed? Approximate boot time is 5 minutes! Long delays on shutdown also. The new system works great once it is up and running! My laptop is 10 years old (Comapaq Presario A900), but it has worked well with Ubuntu over the years and I was hoping that the 18.04 would have a *faster* boot time, so I was excited to install the new system. Alas, it now suffers from excessively long boot time which I am convinced is due to a timeout error. But I do not have enough knowledge to know exactly what exactly is 'timing out'?
