I'm sorry for not reporting back, but in an e-mail thread with the Kernel team we found that the problem was the wake on USB feature in my BIOS, designed to allow the computer to wake up on keyboard input. Somehow the iPod would send the same signal when the computer went into standby, immediately waking it up again.
Unfortunately, at the moment, I'm not longer using Ubuntu. So it's not possible for me to test this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889482 Title: System will not suspend while iPod touch is connected Status in The Linux Kernel: Invalid Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: My system refuses to suspend while my fourth generation iPod touch is connected.
