Title: Upgrade to 4.10 hwe kernel will cause xserver-* and ubuntu-desktop to be removed Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Test case: 1. Install 16.04.2 + upgrade, make sure input devices, hotkeys are working 2. Enable proposed, run dist-upgrade to upgrade to 4.10 Expect result: * Everything should work without problem. Actual result: * APT will try to remove some vital packages for dekstop environment, like ubuntu-desktop, xorg and xserver-* This issue was spotted on Dell Inspiron 7460 CID:201606-22348 $ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade [sudo] password for ubuntu: Reading package lists...
