slow file transfer in kubuntu-natty

Bug description:
file transfer is too slow and often takes longer time when compared to
ubuntu. This can be clearly seen when transferring files to usb-drive
(formatted in ntfs).
Does kubuntu needs special configuraion options to handle file
transfers or is this a KDE or kubuntu specific issue...
