Public bug reported: I ran "sudo apt autoremove" to get rid of many old Linux images. It appeared to enter a continual loop, and after a while I powered down. Don't know yet if there are any other problems. A second machine, physically identical, ran through the loops for a considerable time, but appeared to recover.
