Not sure if this is related. Caught this before I upgraded. System is
now freezing and I can't use an old kernel as I get the following:

  Kernel 4.13.0-25 broke nvidia driver

Bug description:
  After updating to linux-image-4.13.0-25-generic the binary nvidia
  driver 387.22 cannot be built. As a result the system does not boot
  into the desktop environment (in my case, KDE).
