The display works on 12.10 and does work while booting. As soon as X starts, the display is gone. Xrandr does show it and it can be configured. The screenshot tool shows entire area correctly. But nothing appears on the screen. Reconnecting the cable does the usual flicker, as does power cycling the monitor. The display stays blank. On 12.10 something similar occurred intermittently. After closing the notebook lid, the monitor had to be powercycled (re-plugging the cable did not help).
