Public bug reported: == Precise SRU Justification == We provide updated compat-wireless stack packages for Precise via LBM in order to allow users access to updated or newer wireless drivers while remaining under the umbrella of the LTS release. A v3.10 compat wireless stack is now available via upstream backports. We should provide this in LBM for Precise.
==Fix == The following branch contains a patch to add the compat-wireless v3.10 stack: git://kernel.ubuntu.com/ogasawara/ubuntu-precise-lbm.git lp<tbd> This is based on the following: https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/backports/stable/v3.10.17/ I've also provided a branch to update the meta package: git://kernel.ubuntu.com/ogasawara/ubuntu-precise-meta.git lp<tbd> == Impact == LBM is an elective install so there shouldn't be any potential for regression. For those who do choose to install, this will provide an updated compat wireless stack. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Assignee: Leann Ogasawara (leannogasawara) Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Assignee: Leann Ogasawara (leannogasawara) Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Medium Assignee: Leann Ogasawara (leannogasawara) Status: In Progress ** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Medium Assignee: Leann Ogasawara (leannogasawara) Status: In Progress ** Also affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Leann Ogasawara (leannogasawara) ** Also affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Precise) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Precise) Assignee: (unassigned) => Leann Ogasawara (leannogasawara) ** Changed in: linux-meta (Ubuntu Precise) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux-meta (Ubuntu Precise) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: linux-meta (Ubuntu Precise) Assignee: (unassigned) => Leann Ogasawara (leannogasawara) ** Changed in: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Invalid ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1246465 Title: Update Precise LBM to include v3.10 compat-wireless stack Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in “linux-meta” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in “linux” source package in Precise: In Progress Status in “linux-meta” source package in Precise: In Progress Bug description: == Precise SRU Justification == We provide updated compat-wireless stack packages for Precise via LBM in order to allow users access to updated or newer wireless drivers while remaining under the umbrella of the LTS release.
