Suspend won't work on Ubuntu 17.10 beta

Bug description:
I upgraded my ubuntu gnome 17.04 to ubuntu 17.10.
When the laptop is suspended, it cpu keeps working, the power light which
blinks when suspended doesn't blink, it just stays on which means the laptop
didn't get suspended.
Also when i wake from this problematic 'suspend' state, wifi icon from
top bar is missing and issuing reboot from terminal reports andother
shutdown/reboot operation is already in progress.
Also wifi cannot be turned on what so ever and the gnome-control-
center app doesn't open.
