Since this will be fixed in later silicon, and the impacted silicon will have a very limited distribution/life span for non-production scenarios, there is no plan to push a fix upstream. However, it would be valuable for users evaluating this silicon if Ubuntu could carry a workaround for this issue for the 17.10 cycle.
