Public bug reported: What is expected to happen is when one adjusts the power cord slightly is the computer doesn't shutdown.
What happens instead is looks like it received a shutdown event. Previously, when I was using an HDD, a message would pop up asking if I wanted to shutdown, which I didn't. However, now that I'm using an SSD, it just immediately starts shutting down without my being able to either prevent the event altogether, or say no. As well, no configuration option exists to adjust this in Power Options, etc. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: linux-image-3.11.0-12-generic 3.11.0-12.19 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-12.19-generic 3.11.3 Uname: Linux 3.11.0-12-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.12.5-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: moniker 1982 F.... pulseaudio Date: Sun Oct 27 23:33:42 2013 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=2acfb304-f013-4949-80e4-1ecdd0cb0632 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-09-14 (43 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 13.10 "Saucy Salamander" - Alpha amd64 (20130902.1) MachineType: Acer Aspire 5750 MarkForUpload: True ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.11.0-12-generic root=UUID=60912c9c-2d5a-4031-89a4-184a797fe53f ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-3.11.0-12-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-3.11.0-12-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.116 SourcePackage: linux UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 08/09/2012 dmi.bios.vendor: Acer dmi.bios.version: V1.21 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: JE50_HR dmi.board.vendor: Acer dmi.board.version: Base Board Version dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: Acer dmi.chassis.version: V1.21 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAcer:bvrV1.21:bd08/09/2012:svnAcer:pnAspire5750:pvrV1.21:rvnAcer:rnJE50_HR:rvrBaseBoardVersion:cvnAcer:ct10:cvrV1.21: dmi.product.name: Aspire 5750 dmi.product.version: V1.21 dmi.sys.vendor: Acer ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: Confirmed ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug raring saucy ** Tags added: raring ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1245327 Title: [Acer Aspire 5750-9668] Laptop shuts down when the power cord is adjusted Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: What is expected to happen is when one adjusts the power cord slightly is the computer doesn't shutdown.
