Yes, after a kernel update. 100%. I've seen that before after installing
4.4.0-75 kernel (or newer version, I don't remember). Ignored kernel
updates for a while, today I've tried to update to 4.4.0-87 and got the
same issues.

Sorry, but I won't install 4.13-rc2 upstream kernel. The process is
complicated + I'm on Linux Mint 18.1 (it's based on 16.04 but obviously
it's not pure 16.04) and I don't wanna risk.

Maybe I could find time to add some log files (if I'll figure out how),
I don't know.

  Issues with Nvidia GeForce GT 240M. Can't define monitor and set

  Kernel: 4.4.0-87. Nvidia screen (after boot) has disappeared.
  System: Linux Mint 18.1 MATE

  I'm using 4.4.0-72 kernel for now with no such issues.
