Same here: HP ProBook 4525s. After upgrade to Kubuntu 13.10 I got problems with suspension to RAM. Computer doesn't wake up very often. The HDD LED blinks, the main power switch shines but the screen is black. I don't know if it is possible to connect via ssh. I'm going to try it next time.
Sometimes it even doesn't go to sleep. Screen turns black but the fan doesn't stop and nothing more happens. Plus I have trouble connecting the external monitor. Before that upgrade everything worked just fine. Maybe something with video drivers? uname: Linux 3.11.0-12-generic #19-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 9 16:12:00 UTC 2013 i686 athlon i686 GNU/Linux lshw -display:: product: Park [Mobility Radeon HD 5430/5450/5470] configuration: driver=fglrx_pci latency=0 unity_support_test -p -f: OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
