linux-generic-hwe-16.04-edge from xenial-proposed repo fixes the
problem.

Bug description:
Since I upgraded the kernel from linux-image-4.8.0-46-generic to
linux-image-extra-4.10.0-14-generic I'm facing an issue when I want to
change the MTU.
It seems to be known bug already fixed:
