Public bug reported: I have a USB hub with two devices attached: an ethernet card and a wireless keyboard/mouse receiver. If I plug in or unplug my Galaxy Nexus phone, it causes the other two devices to disconnect momentarily. If I plug in or unplug one of the other devices, everything works fine.
One time, the hub stopped working completely until I rebooted the computer. Here's the dmesg output after I connect the phone: [ 340.050653] usb 3-1: USB disconnect, device number 6 [ 340.050665] usb 3-1.2: USB disconnect, device number 7 [ 340.050812] smsc75xx 3-1.2:1.0 eth0: unregister 'smsc75xx' usb-0000:03:00.0-1.2, smsc75xx USB 2.0 Gigabit Ethernet [ 340.067583] usb 3-1.4: USB disconnect, device number 9 [ 340.898849] usb 3-1: new high-speed USB device number 10 using xhci_hcd [ 340.915362] usb 3-1: New USB device found, idVendor=1a40, idProduct=0101 [ 340.915372] usb 3-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=1, SerialNumber=0 [ 340.915378] usb 3-1: Product: USB 2.0 Hub [ 340.916301] hub 3-1:1.0: USB hub found [ 340.916436] hub 3-1:1.0: 4 ports detected [ 341.187043] usb 3-1.1: new high-speed USB device number 11 using xhci_hcd [ 341.205543] usb 3-1.1: New USB device found, idVendor=04e8, idProduct=6860 [ 341.205555] usb 3-1.1: New USB device strings: Mfr=2, Product=3, SerialNumber=4 [ 341.205561] usb 3-1.1: Product: Galaxy Nexus [ 341.205565] usb 3-1.1: Manufacturer: samsung [ 341.205570] usb 3-1.1: SerialNumber: 0146B5581701300A [ 341.278951] usb 3-1.2: new high-speed USB device number 12 using xhci_hcd [ 341.295441] usb 3-1.2: New USB device found, idVendor=0424, idProduct=7500 [ 341.295452] usb 3-1.2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 [ 341.295458] usb 3-1.2: Product: USB Gigabit LAN [ 341.295462] usb 3-1.2: Manufacturer: WS [ 341.295466] usb 3-1.2: SerialNumber: 0000000059 [ 341.299172] smsc75xx v1.0.0 [ 341.349370] smsc75xx 3-1.2:1.0 eth0: register 'smsc75xx' at usb-0000:03:00.0-1.2, smsc75xx USB 2.0 Gigabit Ethernet, 00:0e:c6:89:aa:b9 [ 341.418957] usb 3-1.4: new full-speed USB device number 13 using xhci_hcd [ 341.440846] usb 3-1.4: New USB device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=c52b [ 341.440856] usb 3-1.4: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 [ 341.440861] usb 3-1.4: Product: USB Receiver [ 341.440866] usb 3-1.4: Manufacturer: Logitech [ 341.457591] logitech-djreceiver 0003:046D:C52B.0012: hiddev0,hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Device [Logitech USB Receiver] on usb-0000:03:00.0-1.4/input2 [ 341.465106] input: Logitech Unifying Device.
