I'd like to perform a bisect to figure out what commit caused this regression. It would be very helpful to know the earliest kernel where the issue started happening as well as the latest kernel that did not have this issue.
Can you test the following kernels and report back? We are looking for the earliest kernel version that exhibits this bug: v3.5 final: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.5-quantal/ v3.6 final: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.6-quantal/ v3.7 final: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.7-raring/ You don't have to test every kernel, just up until the kernel that first has this bug. Thanks in advance! ** Tags added: performing-bisect -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1242512 Title: Webcam Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000 not detected Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Description: Kubuntu 13.10 Release: 13.10 Uname: Linux 3.11.0-12-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Connect webcam Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000 dmesg | grep uvc [ 12.071480] uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device <unnamed> (046d:0994) [ 12.086783] usbcore: registered new interface driver uvcvideo [ 326.239483] uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device Microsoft\xffffffc2\xffffffae\xffffffae LifeCam VX-7000 (045e:0723) [ 326.239930] uvcvideo: UVC non compliance - GET_DEF(PROBE) not supported.
