Keyboard and mouse freeze up in Ubuntu 16.04 with 4.4.0-7 kernel

Bug description:
Keyboard is sporadically responsive before freezing. Mouse is twitchy before
freezing.
Ubuntu 16.04 with 3.13.0-86 has no issues at all.
