Hi Daniel, Thanks for looking at this. I am still using my ubuntu MX4 as my normal daily phone and also have the BQ M10 tablet. Very sorry to hear Canonical have dropped ubuntu touch, phones and tablets. I thought it was going very well, when you consider what you have all achieved over the past few years, its a real shame. I think ubuntu touch is every bit as good as Android, better in some cases, if you consider scopes and the swipe gestures. Going back to Android will be a disappointment for me. Thanks for your hard work.
Regarding Unity desktop, I was getting to like it and its very easy for the family to use. The HUD performance will also be difficult to replace in Gnome and I like the sliding left icons (I think we we be limited in Gnome). I have tried Gnome with some tweaks but its still not as nice to use as Unity. The phone has never been able to pair with my Jaguar XKR 2007. The car finds the Meizu MX4 and displays the phone type, but will not pair to it Any help to improve this would be appreciated. Just to say, really enjoying Ubuntu Touch, once miracast is added it will be the one to beat.
