Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.10 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Title:
  2560x1440 platform FIFO underrun error

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
    When the system run at 2560x1440 distribution, the screen would go blank on 
Cherry Hill(Intel I915) platform. But the platform works well on windows system.
    The system start normally in X-windows-disabled,  then I switch to X 
Windows, the screen will go blank.

  command: dmesg | grep drm
  output: [drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A 
FIFO underrun
