Public bug reported: I'm running Intel® HD Graphics 530 (Skylake GT2) onboard on Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz × 8. I have an external monitor attached via miniDP. Since I prefer to work on one screen only, I tend to disable the built-in display and only use the monitor.
However, when I launch Display settings and try to turn off Built-in Display, it works (primary display is turned off while external monitor shows UI output). The problem is that the desktop UI is unbearably slow (0,5 FPS), so it is even hard to target the "Cancel" button on the "Would you like to keep the settings" dialog. Luckily, the display setting reverts automatically :-) Since I only use one display, I have then enable "Mirror display" which uses suboptimal 1920x1080 on my 1920x1200 monitor. It's fine, but it's not perfect ;) Thank you so much!
