It has been acked by the Kprobes maintainer and is awaiting powerpc maintainer review. Currently, whenever a probe is placed in the kernel using the kprobes infrastructure, it places a trap instruction at that place. This feature will replace the trap with a branch thereby reducing the probe overhead drastically.
