I noticed it several times that the laptop battery on my Dell XPS 17 (L702x) with Core i7 processor was empty when I wanted to resume after standby, but now I investigated further and noticed that the case is EXTREMELY hot when it is in standby. Don't know what you need to investigate this, but this has not been the case for years now. Maybe it is even harmful to the system, as fans are off and all, but the processor works on and on! Please help!!
