I am running Ubuntu 13.04 and I've just noticed that closing the lid doesn't suspend my NP900X4C.
This is new to me - I've had the laptop close to a year now and this always worked. I don't know when it stopped working. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1232528 Title: Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C-A04US lid state not detected in ubuntu 13.10. Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I have had no problems with suspend on laptop lid close for over a year, using 12.04. But since my upgrade to 13.10 I no longer get any lid state messages. cat /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID0/state always shows state: open. In 12.04 my keyboard backlight never worked, and now in 13.10 it does. I also used to be able to put the laptop to sleep by pressing the power button, but in 13.10 that is not working either. Everything else is working perfectly, except for the lid state changes. On my way to 13.10 from 12.04 I did upgrade to 13.04 and lid state change was working properly, but bluetooth was not, so I decided to try 13.10. Bluetooth works fine now.
