Asus X201E unable to boot 12.04.2 installer

Bug description:
Attempting to certify the Asus X201E with 12.04.2. The installer
fails to boot, dropping a kernel panic. There are no logs and I am
unable to do anything as the system does a KP while booting the
installer kernel.
The kernel panic appears to occur at mounting root file system.
