You reported this bug against the 'shim' package. 3.13.0-92-generic is
the first version of the kernel for trusty that introduces a new module
signing enforcement policy; so this could have been related to shim, but
you also report that 3.13.0-91-generic did not boot for you, and that
version did not include the module signing enforcement policy.
Reassigning to the kernel.

** Package changed: shim (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu)

Title:
After kernel update Kubuntu won't start

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I have Kubuntu 14.04

  # uname -a
  Linux keep 3.13.0-88-generic #135-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 8 21:10:42 UTC 2016
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
  # lsb_release -rd
  Description: Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS
  Release: 14.04

I can't boot on latest versions of linux kernels provided for Kubuntu
14.04. Kubuntu shows "Kubuntu" boot logo and PC completely does not
responds at all for a long time until hardware reboot. The last
version which I can boot is 3.13.0-88-generic. Next versions:
3.13.0-91-generic and 3.13.0-92-generic has this trouble.

I wanted to update to Kubuntu 16.04 but I'm afraid that I will not
able to boot with latest kernels. From another side I'm not sure that
  problem exactly in kernel.

I'm ready to provide any additional information.
