You reported this bug against the 'shim' package. 3.13.0-92-generic is the first version of the kernel for trusty that introduces a new module signing enforcement policy; so this could have been related to shim, but you also report that 3.13.0-91-generic did not boot for you, and that version did not include the module signing enforcement policy.
