Ubuntu 3.13.0-86.130-generic 3.13.11-ckt39
PowerEdge R630 running Ubuntu Trusty with generic-trusty kernel.
nrpe process hangs in running state. SIGKILL does nothing.

Any attempt to attach to process via gdb or strace hangs. Telnet
against port 5666 succeeds, although no change in state is seen on
nrpe.
