I would double the request for compiling the VM86 functionality into the Xenial i386 kernel again. I.e. it makes running compilers under DOSEMU a pain due to ~10 times slowdown... If it's not enabled by default, it shouldn't be any problem. Thanks in advance. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574602 Title: VM86 is not enabled in Xenial i386 kernel Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hi there, Could you please enable the following kernel options in 16.04 LTS i386 kernel? CONFIG_X86_LEGACY_VM86 CONFIG_VM86 The same issue occurred in Wily, but was raised and fixed in bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1499089 . I had expected that that fix would have automatically carried over to the next release, but it seems it was not.
