Public bug reported: The latest security patch for 3.19.0 for Ubuntu 14.04 started freezing my laptop (Dell Inc. XPS 15 9530). All the patches before this one for the kernel 3.19.0 for Ubuntu 14.04 were OK. From log, the last message before freezing was "kernel: ...[drm] HPD interrupt storm detected on connector HDMI-A-1: switching from hotplug detection to polling", as you can see below:
