I installed indicator-sensors to get a handle on the temperature and it's hovering at about 80C without much load at all. I managed to work around this by adding "radeon.runpm=0" to boot options and adding to /etc/rc.local: sleep 15 echo OFF > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch to turn off the discrete GPU. Now temp is 50-61 degrees during normal use. I tried the Vivid and Wily LTS-kernels but the problem is still there. As a side note, fglrx apparently doesn't support my GPUs anymore but is still offered in Additional drivers. Installing them messed up my system and I had to remove fglrx manually in console, which was not nice. Do you think I should post a bug report on that, so fglrx is not offered for these GPU?
