I am currently testing the fix from http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/mkp/linux.git/commit/?h=bugzilla-93581&id=7c4fbd50bfece00abf529bc96ac989dd2bb83ca4 This will trigger drive failures requiring a hard powercycle on any kernel that has the aforementioned bug relating to failing to clamp transfer limits to device imposed limits as well as controller imposed limits. To reproduce: install a Seagate Archive 8TB (v2) hard drive, attempt bulk data writes. I can reproduce with a seagate Model=ST8000AS0002-1NA17Z on the AR15 firmware. Apparently this can also happen on older firmware revs of this drive.
