Upon further investigation it would appear that is is a duplicate of Bug #1189721 and is assigned to visred This bug appears to have been prevalent for 2 years and 6 months at least DESPITE the produce being listed as "Ubuntu Certified". The importance is marked medium which based on the number of threads and affected devices seems ridiculous.
There are numerous offers to assist from us mere user mortals but it seems that this bug just keeps sinking to the bottom of the pile.
