I've learned creating bootable flashdisk & I've just tried 13.10 daily.
Can't say that this bug is fixed since 13.10 generates different behavior. Printer & fax status are always idle even cable unplugged. If cable plugged then it will do printing. But if cable unplugged then no job is sending & printer queue is empty. Perhaps I made mistake while trying, but I think I can't do testing any further with 13.10.. Too many problems...drives me crazy.. My stupid suspicion currently is printer driver conflicts with fax driver (using same driver). Or, perhaps, because both using same interface/port? ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1159358 Title: [HP Pavillion dm3-1109TU] USB Printer needs replug to work after boot Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: While working a moment on LibreOffice Calc found that facts: - Print job was pending (printer not printing). Found that the printer was not working. Usually if the problem persists, plug out the USB cable and then plug in again. I don't find any solution other than replugging printer USB cable to wake up the printer.
