Sujith Manoharan, my apologies as I did not realize you were an upstream maintainer. Despite this, not intending to patronize you, but as previously documented in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/945379/comments/45 , it is requested of users who make "Me too!" comments on WiFi linux (Ubuntu) bug reports on Launchpad to provide all data in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LinuxWireless (which includes requesting a WiFi backports test) on a separate bug report. This helps prevent "dogpiling", as many like to say they have the same problem, but when they make a new report, as you may have experienced, the high majority have different permutations of WiFi chipset, connecting hardware, router, and root cause.
If you would prefer a different workflow then that previously documented, please feel free to ping me directly so we can take this discussion off report and work on making the documentation more efficient. Thank you for your understanding. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/945379 Title: 168c:002b Wireless connection randomly drops -- ath9k Status in The Linux Kernel: Confirmed Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: This an old problem that oneiric had in its early days. The wifi connection randomly drops. Sometimes it reconnect itself (after asking for the WPA key again ...), but most of time it is needed to deactivate/activate wireless networking from nm-applet or, when it doesn't do the trick, I need to turn off/on wireless networks using the hw switch.
